A PLAY that focuses on the life of William Shakespeare's eldest daughter Susanna and her husband Dr John Hall is being performed by the Talisman Theatre in Kenilworth.
Members of the cast were at Hall's Croft in Stratford last Saturday to promote the play The Herbal Bed - by Peter Whelan, which is set largely at Hall's Croft, the family home.
Bob Teers, of the Talisman Theatre, said the play, based on actual events in 1613, will be of great interest to Stratford people.
"The Halls were a well-to-do couple with considerable standing in the town, physicians being the 'consultants' of the Elizabethan medical system," said Mr Teers.
The play is directed by Beryl Milner and the cast includes Mary MacDonald as Susanna and Steve Smith as John Hall.
Tickets for the play, which runs from November 12 to 17 at 7.30pm, are available from the Talisman box office on 01926 856548.
