Special concert will pay tribute

CAMPDEN and District Music Society is paying tribute to its former treasurer who died earlier this year, with a special concert.

Members wanted to remember Frank Seymour's contribution to the society in his five years as treasurer and his distinguished career in the medical field before retiring to Chipping Campden.

The evening, next Tuesday in Chipping Campden School hall, will feature pianist David Smith who was, unusually, allowed to enrol both for a science degree and a performing diploma in music at Adelaide University, South Australia.

David was introduced to Frank by mutual friends and, through their joint interest in music, a lasting friendship developed.

He still manages to combine his biophysics research at King's College, London, with concerts and music.

The concert programme will include works by Scarlatti, Mozart, Chopin, Beethoven and Liszt and profits from the sale of tickets for this special concert will go to the Sue Ryder Foundation.
