PARISH COUNCIL: The Chairman, Coun L Stowe began the meeting by saying how sorry he was that Coun J Moss and C Hoggins refused to sign the Code of Conduct that is now required and that Mickleton Parish Council had adopted this procedure at the March meeting, but he hoped that if both councillors changed their minds they would be welcomed back. Both councillors sat with members of the public throughout the meeting. Coun Stowe went on to thank Coun Jim Moss who has served Mickleton Parish Council for 48 years, a truly great achievement and he will be greatly missed for his profound knowledge of Mickleton. Coun Chris Hoggins, who carried on from his late father, Johnnie Hoggins, was thanked also for his contributions and village knowledge. Before parish council matters could be proceeded with, Coun M Stowe said how disgusted he was with the requirements of the Code of Conduct, and left the meeting. more...

After coffee and biscuits and a welcome from our Chairman, our new Treasurer Mr Colin Woodman gave a short report. There was no other business. The Chairman then introduced the speaker, Mr Norman Ellis, who gave a very informative and interesting talk about the construction and use of the Channel Tunnel.
