I am concerned that an important fact was omitted from your article, perhaps by the matter not being highlighted in the press release from West Mercia Police, or from editing down. Existing owners of a self-contained air/gas cartridge airgun must apply to the police for a firearms certificate by April 30 - or hand it in to the police by that date. Pershore

TWINNING ASSOCIATION: The association is looking forward to a visit over the May Day holiday, of guests from Bad Neustadt, Germany, with whom the town has been twinned for 25 years and from Plouay, France, celebrating 10 years. The visit will include a Civic Reception at the Town Hall on Saturday afternoon, and a social evening at the Horticultural College that evening. During the morning, dancers from Bad Neustadt will be joining Pershore's own Scottish Dancing Society in a display at Chapman Court and during the afternoon a plaque celebrating the close ties between the Twinning and Perscoran Brass will be formally unveiled. On Sunday afternoon, a special interdenominational Service at the Abbey has been arranged, with a barbecue at the Fleece Inn, Bretforton, in the evening. The twinning committee is anxious that all past and present members of the association are aware of these celebrations. For details contact 01386 552304.
