Bowls club theft

A BADSEY man has pleaded guilty in court to crimes which resulted in around £25,000 going missing from Broadway Bowling Club. David Satterley (63), of Green Leys, pleaded guilty at Worcester Magistrates Court on Tuesday to two charges of theft, five dishonesty charges and asked for 19 other offences to be taken into consideration. Satterley was granted unconditional bail to appear at Worcester Crown Court on Friday, June 11, for sentencing.   more...

LIFEBOATS' PRESIDENT: At the annual meeting of North Cotswold branch of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution in Moreton, Mr Paul Ayshford Sanford was appointed president to succeed Admiral Sir Peter Herbert, who retired from the branch after 14 years' service. Mr Ayshford Sanford was the founder chairman of the branch for 10 years from 1972 and at the meeting gave a talk on the fund-raising events that took place at that time, and he paid tribute to the many helpers involved.   more...
